About Sara
Sara Mainville is the Managing Partner of JFK Law LLP, working from the firm's Toronto office. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2005, the BC Bar in 2022, and the Saskatchewan Bar in 2024, and holds an LL.M. from the University of Toronto along with a Bachelor of Laws from Queen's University. In 2014 she was elected Chief of Couchiching First Nation, an experience she now draws on to help Indigenous leadership navigate governance and dispute resolution. Sara was closely involved in negotiating the First Nation Sovereign Wealth LP, a partnership of 129 Ontario First Nations that received 14 million Hydro One shares and $29 million in seed capital. She teaches Nation-building and Inherent Jurisdiction at Osgoode Hall Law School and sits on the boards of the Ontario Bar Association and the Shine Network.
