About Sander

Sander Gelsing is a partner at Warren Sinclair LLP who heads the firm's intellectual property law practice, working in patents, trademarks, copyrights, industrial designs, and trade secrets. Born in the Netherlands, he moved to Canada at age 11 and was raised in Red Deer before earning two degrees from the University of Calgary and a law degree from the University of Victoria. He articled in Victoria, British Columbia, was called to the British Columbia Bar, and later to the Alberta Bar. In addition to practising law, he is a registered Canadian and United States patent agent and a registered Canadian trademark agent recognized to appear before the USPTO in trademark matters. His practice, restricted to intellectual property law and IP litigation, has included matters before the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench, the Federal Court, and the Trade-mark Opposition Board. He speaks Dutch in addition to English.
