About Safwan

Safwan Javed is a partner whose work spans entertainment law, covering music, social media, literary properties, film and television, and general business matters. He represents musicians, songwriters, labels, publishers, producers, authors, and entrepreneurs. He co-founded the Juno-nominated band Wide Mouth Mason in 1995, earning multiple gold records and touring globally alongside acts including the Rolling Stones, AC/DC, and ZZ Top. He still plays drums for the group and acts as its co-manager. He serves as president of Fair Trade Music International and sits on the boards of the Songwriters Association of Canada and Canada's Music Incubator, advocating for creators on copyright policy.
