About Ryan
Ryan White co-leads the firm's construction labour law practice group and focuses on labour relations and construction matters. He has particular experience with union certification applications, fighting off raid and displacement attempts, and seeking interim relief during organizing campaigns. He represented the Canadian Union of Postal Workers in the case that certified the first bargaining unit of gig workers in North America, at Foodora. Ryan joined the firm as an associate in 2009 after articling there and became a partner in 2017. He has more than 150 reported labour board and arbitration decisions on CanLII, over twenty of which the Ontario Labour Relations Board flagged as significant. He is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School, where he won several class prizes including one for the best paper on workers' rights, and he was called to the bar in 2009. He often gives talks on the gig economy and developments in labour law.
