About Ryan

Ryan Lake is a Partner at Maurice Law focused on Aboriginal and Treaty rights litigation and negotiation, including matters involving the Crown's duty to consult and accommodate. He interned at the federal Department of Justice and with the Senate's Law Clerk and Parliamentary Counsel office while in law school, then started his career at a firm known for maritime, aviation, and transportation work before practicing commercial, insurance, and class action litigation in Toronto. Lake joined Maurice Law in 2014 and has 15 years of experience negotiating Specific Claims. He has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Canada and Federal Court of Appeal, the Specific Claims Tribunal, and courts in Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.
