About Ryan

Ryan Baxter practises health law and the regulation of professions, with related work in administrative law and litigation. He serves as general counsel to a number of professional regulators, advising on investigations, complaints, discipline and governance matters, and helps draft and interpret governing legislation and by-laws. He has adjudicated matters for bodies including the Review Board under the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act and the Halifax Regional Municipality's License Appeal Committee. Ryan sits on the Council of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society and is a member of McInnes Cooper's Board of Directors. He earned his J.D. from the University of New Brunswick in 2014 and was called to the bar in Prince Edward Island in 2015, Nova Scotia in 2016 and Nunavut in 2020.
