Intellectual PropertyRobert Cowan is a partner in McInnes Cooper's Halifax office practising corporate and business law with a focus on technology and intellectual property. He works extensively with early and growth stage companies, partnering with entrepreneurs on venture capital financings and on the ownership, protection and licensing of patents, trademarks and copyright. Robert serves on the boards of the Canadian Technology Law Association, Propel ICT and the JazzEast Rising Association, and is a past chair of the Intellectual Property Section of the Canadian Bar Association in Nova Scotia. He has taught intellectual property law at Dalhousie University's Schulich School of Law. He earned his LL.B. from Dalhousie University in 1995 and was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 1996.
