About Bill

Bill Sheppard is a partner in Stewart McKelvey's St. John's office, called to the Newfoundland and Labrador bar in 2007. He advises businesses including oil companies, insurance companies and small businesses on commercial transactions, real property and financing matters, and has worked on the sale of a commercial petroleum storage installation, a commercial arbitration for an international royalty owner, and a large financing project for a major seafood company. Sheppard earned his LLB with distinction from the University of New Brunswick in 2006 and holds a BComm (honours) and a BA, both from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a Canadian Securities Course with honours. He was named Best Lawyers' 2026 'Lawyer of the Year' for corporate law in St. John's.
