Administrative & Regulatory LawEmma Halpern co-founded PATH Legal in 2022 after years of working alongside people and communities facing marginalization and barriers to justice. She graduated from law school in 2006, articled with Nova Scotia Legal Aid, and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2008. She went on to work with Nova Scotia Legal Aid and later served as Equity and Access Officer for the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society, and since 2017 has been Executive Director of the Elizabeth Fry Society of Mainland Nova Scotia. She recently completed a Master of Laws at Dalhousie University's Schulich School of Law, where she also teaches criminal law. Her recognitions include the Canadian Bar Association's Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Conference Ally Award, induction into the Bertha Wilson Honour Society, and the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal.
