About Robert
Robert (Bob) Doell has practised family law in Victoria since being called to the bar of British Columbia in 1969, after graduating from the University of British Columbia's law school in 1968. He co-founded Stevenson Doell with Marney Stevenson and has been a partner alongside Brent Kitzke for nearly 30 years. Doell was counsel in several notable pension-division cases, including Rutherford v. Rutherford, which has been cited widely by Canadian courts including the Supreme Court of Canada, and he was successful before the Supreme Court of Canada in Harper v. Harper. He has contributed to continuing legal education materials on family law and pension division, and was recommended for appointment as Queen's Counsel by a former Supreme Court Justice in 1995. Outside the law, Doell has served on the board and as president of the Victoria Golf Club.
