About Richard
Richard Alsop is a partner in the firm's New York office whose practice covers capital markets transactions, corporate governance, corporate finance and work for financial institutions and underwriters. He advises corporations and investment banks across a range of capital markets deals, including IPOs, convertible bonds, and investment grade and high-yield bond offerings, and he contributes to and edits the firm's annual Corporate Governance Survey. From 2003 to 2008 he served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Corporate Law, at Merrill Lynch & Co., counseling senior leadership and directors on significant corporate deals, finance matters, governance questions and executive pay issues. Earlier, from 1994 to 2003, he also held senior legal posts there, serving as Debt Markets General Counsel, Investment Banking General Counsel, and Equity Capital Markets Counsel at various points, before rejoining the firm in 2010.
