About Renee

Renée Kopp is a senior partner whose litigation practice focuses on insurance-related and administrative law matters within the health care sector. She has defended clients in complex, high-value cases including brain injury and fatality claims, working with experts on causation and damages, and has appeared in courts at every level in Ontario. Her clients include long-term care facilities, clinics, and a wide range of regulated health professionals, and her work covers professional liability defence, disciplinary proceedings under the Regulated Health Professions Act, Coroner's inquests, and hearings before the Consent and Capacity Board. She also represents professionals outside health care, including engineers and insurance brokers, and defends not-for-profit organizations in wrongful dismissal and human rights matters. A frequent speaker at industry and legal conferences, Renée is fully bilingual in English and French. She earned her law degree from the University of Ottawa in 1997 and was called to the Ontario bar in 1999.
