About Rebecca

Rebecca Johnston is a partner in the Intellectual Property Group of the firm's Ottawa office, focusing primarily on patent litigation. She is frequently involved in proceedings under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations and patent infringement and impeachment actions. She has experience with pharmaceutical regulatory matters, copyright enforcement and trademark matters. She has appeared before the Federal Court, Ontario Superior Court, Federal Court of Appeal and Ontario Court of Appeal. Before entering law, she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and a Master's degree in Cellular and Molecular Medicine, and worked with a biotechnology company on genetic testing and clinical trials.
