About Rachel

Rachel Sombach joined Black Burke Mayor as an associate after articling at a full-practice law firm in Ottawa. She is passionate about advocating for marginalized individuals and promoting equitable experiences in unionized and non-unionized workplaces. Rachel graduated with a JD and a specialization in Social Justice from the University of Ottawa and holds an Honours degree in Global Development and Gender Studies from Queen's University. During law school she worked with the Community Legal Services of Ottawa clinic on immigration applications, contributed to the eQuality Project's resources for survivors of tech-facilitated violence, and served as Co-Chair of OUTLaw, the law school's 2SLGBTQ+ student association. Rachel uses the pronouns she/her.
