Graham Phoenix founded and leads the firm's Bankruptcy, Insolvency & Restructuring Group and also maintains a corporate and commercial practice. His insolvency work spans formal and informal turnarounds, refinancings, distressed sales, security enforcement, liquidations, receiverships, and restructuring proceedings under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act. He has appeared before every level of court in Ontario, the Supreme Court of Canada, and the US Bankruptcy Court. On the corporate side he handles mergers and acquisitions, commercial lending, and directors' liability matters for businesses, banks, investors, and shareholders. Before joining the firm, Graham practiced at the Toronto office of an international law firm and worked in-house as senior legal counsel for a Fortune 500 company. He holds an LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School and a BA with honours from York University.
