About Philip

Philip Wolfenden is a partner practicing in all areas of labour and employment law, including human rights, employment standards, workers' compensation and wrongful dismissal litigation. He has particular expertise advising manufacturers in sectors such as automotive, construction, food processing and furniture, and he also represents several Ontario municipalities. Before his current role he served as Vice-President of Human Resources and in-house labour and employment counsel at Magna International, and he was previously a partner at a large national firm. He regularly conducts workplace mediations, investigations, training and employee surveys, and maintains an active litigation practice before labour arbitrators, the Labour Relations Board, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, and WSIAT. Phil earned his LLB from the University of Windsor and a BA in Economics and Geography from Colgate University, and he was called to the Ontario Bar in 1978.
