About Philip

Philip is a partner at Prowse Barrette LLP and leads its litigation department, with a practice covering commercial litigation, shareholder disputes, employment law, privacy, and general litigation, including representing victims of sexual assault. He was lead counsel in ES v Shillington, the case that established a new privacy tort in Alberta for the public disclosure of private facts, and in Lischuk v K-Jay Electric Ltd. (2025 ABKB 460), the first Alberta case to exceed the 24-month cap on reasonable notice in a wrongful dismissal claim, which resulted in a 26-month notice award. He studied accounting and finance at the University of Alberta and NAIT and is a former member of the Canadian National Archery team.
