Peter Henein is a commercial litigator whose practice centres on intellectual property (trademark, copyright, and entertainment matters), product liability, and class actions. His clients include Canadian, US, and international IP rights holders, trade associations, film and television producers, franchisors, certification bodies, and manufacturers and distributors across a range of industries. His broader commercial litigation work covers oppression remedy and shareholder disputes, fraud claims, and contract disputes, and he assists international clients and counsel navigating the Canadian litigation landscape, including letters rogatory matters. He advises manufacturers, retailers, distributors, and specialty insurers on product liability claims and multi-district class actions. He has appeared in the Federal Court of Canada and the provincial courts of Ontario and British Columbia on trademark, copyright, and entertainment law disputes, and has also appeared for copyright collectives at the Copyright Board of Canada, the Federal Court, and the Supreme Court of Canada. He is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, where he co-chairs the Fall Convention Planning Committee and serves as vice-chair of the Education Committee, and is a board member of The Advocates' Society. He was called to the Ontario bar in 2004 and the British Columbia bar in 2020.
