About Jim

Jim Lepore is a partner at Lenczner Slaght whose advocacy focuses on commercial and intellectual property litigation, particularly in disputes touching the technology, AI, fintech, telecom and natural resource sectors. He draws on a background in engineering, business and law to find practical solutions both inside and outside the courtroom, appearing regularly before Ontario and federal courts in matters spanning patent and software licensing conflicts, corporate oppression claims, and product liability cases. Before law school, Jim studied mechanical engineering and management at McMaster University, graduating summa cum laude with a capstone project on designing low-noise landing gear for a private jet. He earned his JD from the University of Western Ontario, where he won several academic honours including the J.S.D. Tory Writing Prize and prizes in intellectual property writing. He was called to the Ontario bar in 2018.
