About Paula

Paula was called to the British Columbia bar in 2019 after completing her articles with a criminal defence firm in Surrey, and she maintains a focused practice in criminal law and driving-related offences. She represents clients across a range of criminal and quasi-criminal matters with an emphasis on careful file analysis and strategic advocacy, and appears regularly in Provincial Court in both contested proceedings and negotiated resolutions. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta in 2017, where she competed in the Laskin Moot Court competition and volunteered with Student Legal Services in Edmonton, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Simon Fraser University and an Associate of Arts in Creative Writing from Douglas College.
