About West

West was called to the British Columbia bar in 2021 and maintains a broad defence practice spanning criminal, driving, and administrative law, including civil forfeiture and ICBC-related matters. He is known for a disciplined, strategic approach to litigation with particular attention to evidentiary and Charter issues, and his practice includes defending civil forfeiture proceedings and ICBC disputes. He earned his Juris Doctor from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the same school. He has contributed to access to justice initiatives through the Law Students' Legal Advice Program at the Carnegie Community Centre and through work with the Innocence Project supporting people seeking to overturn wrongful convictions.
