About Paul

Paul Festeryga advises national and multinational public companies as well as family-owned enterprises on tax matters including cross-border restructuring, financing, mergers and acquisitions, and personal and estate planning. He also represents clients in tax audits and tax litigation, drawing on experience with owner-managed businesses across sectors such as telecommunications, food production, and property management. Festeryga leads the firm's Tax, Estates & Trusts practice group and is a past member of the editorial board of the Canadian Tax Journal. He earned his LL.M. from Dalhousie University in 1987, his LL.B. from Queen's University in 1985, and a B.A. from Carleton University in 1982. He holds the TEP designation from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and was named King's Counsel in 2016.
