Business & Corporate LawPatrick McCaugherty is a passionate advocate for environmental sustainability and Indigenous rights, believing in an Indigenous-led approach to environmental protection and conservation. His practice areas include Aboriginal and treaty rights, consultation and accommodation, corporate and commercial law, First Nation constitutions, laws and policy, governance support, impact benefit agreements, and natural resources. Before joining Woodward & Company in 2024, he served as legal counsel at the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, focusing on lands and protected areas and ensuring the Crown fulfilled its duty to consult and accommodate obligations. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba and a JD from Osgoode Hall Law School, where he participated in the Kawaskimhon Aboriginal Moot team and the Environmental Justice and Sustainability Clinic. He was called to the Law Society of Ontario in 2022 and the Law Society of British Columbia in 2025.
