About Nuri
Nuri G. Frame is managing partner at the firm and has represented Indigenous governments across Canada for nearly two decades in major legal battles and negotiations. Nuri has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada multiple times as counsel for intervenors, in cases including Behn, Keewatin, Chippewas of the Thames and Nisga'a Nation, and has litigated trials, judicial reviews and injunctions across Ontario, Western Canada, the Northwest Territories and Yukon. Recent wins include Chippewas of Saugeen First Nation v South Bruce Peninsula, which confirmed First Nation ownership of Sauble Beach, and a case for the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun that clarified Crown obligations under a Yukon modern treaty. Beyond litigation, Nuri negotiates agreements covering jurisdiction, economic development and treaty implementation, and advises on governance and land use planning. Nuri holds a BA from the University of Toronto and an LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School, earned as a bronze medallist, and is admitted to the bar in Alberta, New York, the Northwest Territories, Ontario and Yukon.
