About Nils

Nils Preshaw spent 12 years as a Crown Prosecutor with extensive trial experience in criminal, conspiracy, and drug trafficking cases before specializing in complex fraud litigation from 2008, founding his own practice in 2014 to represent clients across Western Canada, and joining Kornfeld LLP in 2018. He was lead counsel in the landmark Youyi Group Holdings v. Brentwood Lanes case, a $28.8 million contract dispute that proceeded through a 78-day trial and survived appellate review. He is a former tribunal member for the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization, a past volunteer with the BC Judicial Council's Advisory Committee (2020-2023), a contributor to the 2023 Professional Legal Training Course on ethics, and a frequent speaker on electronic litigation and AI applications. He holds an LLB from the Faculty of Law at the University of Calgary and a BA in Political Science and English Literature from the same university, and was called to the bar in Alberta in 2002 and British Columbia in 2006.
