Nicolas Lapierre earned a law degree from the Université du Québec à Montréal in 2008 and has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 2010. Before qualifying, he worked as an assistant registrar at the courthouse and holds a college diploma in multimedia integration, having also worked as an IT technician. He now practises exclusively in family law, drawing on earlier experience in mortgage law, civil law, youth law and criminal law. Lapierre regularly attends continuing-education programs, including on domestic and family violence, and has spoken at Canadian Bar Association and family-law association sessions on topics such as legal drafting and contempt of court. He has served on the board of the Centre d'action bénévole l'Actuel since 2022 and was elected a councillor of the Beauharnois judicial district for the Barreau de Richelieu in May 2025.
