Mohamed Elbassiouni leads the Accident Benefits team at his firm and has more than 19 years of experience in personal injury and accident benefits law. He holds an LL.M. from Osgoode Hall Law School along with a Certificate in Adjudication, and is currently pursuing further study at Harvard Law School. His case history includes Abyan v. Sovereign General Insurance, in which he challenged the constitutionality of the Minor Injury Guideline and obtained a ruling that portions of it were unconstitutional, and Abu-Ain v. Security National Insurance Company, where he successfully overturned a Licence Appeal Tribunal decision before the Ontario Divisional Court. He has also secured settlements including one exceeding $1.8 million for a single client, and interest awards exceeding $95,000 in other files. He was selected to sit on a subcommittee of the International Academy of Independent Medical Evaluators focused on strengthening a medical evaluators' exam. Mohamed is fluent in English and Arabic.
