About Miranda
Miranda is an associate lawyer at Schofield Macchia who appears regularly at all levels of court and has successfully defended clients on a wide range of criminal and regulatory charges. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Toronto with an Honours BA in History, Political Science and Psychology, and went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School, receiving several merit-based awards along the way. At Osgoode she was involved in advocacy for inmate and Indigenous rights and worked as a Case Worker, Division Leader and Senior Division Leader at the CLASP legal aid clinic. After her call to the Ontario bar she practiced at a large regional Toronto firm, focusing on commercial litigation, appeals, administrative law and professional regulatory defence, before joining Schofield Macchia's criminal defence practice. She speaks English, Urdu and Hindi.
