About Mike
Since joining JSS Barristers as an Associate in 2024, Mike Albert has built on prior experience as a corporate commercial litigator at a large national law firm. He maintains a broad civil litigation practice covering commercial agreements, joint ventures, energy, commercial leasing, and professional liability, and has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta as well as in large arbitrations. Before joining JSS Barristers, he completed a secondment with a large Canadian energy company. Mike earned his BA (Honours) in political science from the University of Saskatchewan in 2015 and his JD with distinction from the same school in 2019, and was called to the Alberta bar in 2020. He volunteers with the Civil Claims Duty Counsel project, assisting self-represented litigants in Alberta's Court of Justice.
