Michelle Casavant, KC is a lawyer, mediator, and workplace investigator who joined Forte Workplace Law in 2026 after 17 years of experience in government, focusing on mediations and investigations grounded in Indigenous legal traditions and systems change. Her practice was previously centred on Aboriginal rights, governance, and Indigenous legal orders, including matters involving Aboriginal and treaty rights, self-government, consultation, and land and resource decision-making. Her investigation, mediation, and circle work spans complex, multi-party environments, including residential school hearings and other high-sensitivity matters. She is a citizen of the Manitoba Metis Federation. King's Counsel is a designation awarded to lawyers who have made significant contributions to the legal profession in British Columbia, held by no more than 7% of practising BC lawyers.
