About Michal

Michal Janecek is an associate whose corporate and commercial practice draws on experience across several countries and legal systems. He moved to Canada with his parents at age eleven and studied law in England, earning an LL.B. from the University of Essex, before completing the National Committee on Accreditation requirements in Canada and being called to the bar in 2020. His work focuses on advising business owners through growth, transition, and succession, including cross-border matters between Canada and the United States, and he also helps individuals and families with wills and powers of attorney. He holds a Diploma in Trusts and Estates from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and belongs to STEP's Canada, Czech Republic, and Slovakia branches, as well as the Hamilton and Halton County Law Associations. He practises out of the Hamilton region and speaks English, Slovak, and Czech.
