About Michael

Michael Luchenski heads Lawrences' Business Law Group and serves as the firm's co-managing partner. He advises owner-managed businesses across the full business cycle, from acquisitions and divestitures to shareholder disputes, secured financing, succession planning and intellectual property licensing. He also has significant experience assisting not-for-profit corporations with governance matters. Michael has negotiated the transfer of a family business to the next generation amid a difficult succession involving feuding siblings, resolved a shareholder dispute where no shareholder agreement existed by devising an exit strategy, and helped a successful business build a plan to maximize its sale value. He has also restructured a share acquisition to save a purchaser significant tax costs, and helped a not-for-profit corporation resist a takeover attempt by former directors before revising its bylaws to prevent future conflicts.
