About Michael

Michael is a founding partner of Avanessy Giordano LLP and previously worked as a partner at a well-known personal injury firm before starting his own practice. He completed his law degree at the University of Ottawa, after studying English and Law & Society at York University. His practice concentrates on wrongful death claims, motorcycle accident cases, and serious injury litigation involving brain and spine injuries, concussions, and catastrophic impairments. Michael has argued contested motions and served as lead counsel in judge and jury trials at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, along with matters before the Financial Services Tribunal and the Licence Appeal Tribunal. He is active with the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, where he has chaired its New Lawyers' Division and sits on its Board of Directors and Executive Committee, and he hosts the association's annual moot competition for law students.
