About Michael

Michael Bookman has been with Babin Bessner Spry LLP since 2018, joining as an associate and being promoted to partner in 2022. Before that, he practised at a global full-service firm handling commercial and shareholder disputes, securities matters, torts, and class action litigation, appearing before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. From 2012 to 2013 he clerked for Justice Andromache Karakatsanis at the Supreme Court of Canada. Mike earned his LL.B./B.C.L. from McGill University's Faculty of Law, serving there as an editor for the McGill Law Journal, after completing his B.A. at Harvard University. He also holds an M.A. from the Munk School of Global Affairs and an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics. Before pursuing law, he worked as a consultant for a political risk advisory firm in London and served as an officer in the Royal Canadian Navy.
