About Michael

Michael Aasen focuses his practice on labour and employment law, advising and representing employers and executives across the full employee-employer relationship. He drafts, implements, and enforces contracts and workplace policies, responds to wrongful dismissal, human rights, and employment standards complaints, and oversees workplace investigations and accommodation compliance. Michael was called to the Alberta Bar in 1998 after earning his LL.B. from the University of Victoria and a B.A. from the University of Calgary, and he has more than 300 days of trial and appellate experience before Alberta's courts, the Federal Court, and various tribunals. He also advises executives on negotiating and enforcing employment agreements and is active with Silvera for Seniors and the Allardyce Bower Foundation.
