About Meghan
Meghan Wilson joined Jackman & Associates in 2009 and practises exclusively in immigration and refugee law. She graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School and became a member of the Ontario Bar in 2011. Before joining the firm, she worked with international human rights organizations, assisting with litigation related to basic services and police brutality in Johannesburg, South Africa, and assisting torture victims in Kampala, Uganda. In Canada, she regularly appears before the Federal Court and all divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board, handling judicial reviews, refugee hearings and appeals, detention reviews, and sponsorship appeals. She has won several notable Federal Court cases overturning refusals of humanitarian and compassionate and pre-removal risk assessment applications. She received the Ian Scott Public Interest Fellowship and the Cassels, Brock & Blackwell prize for her public interest work, and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Refugee and Refugee Appeal Panels of Legal Aid Ontario, and the Refugee Lawyers' Association.
