About Razmeen

Razmeen Joya obtained her Bachelor of Arts from York University and worked as a legal assistant at Jackman & Associates for three years before earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa in 2011. She completed her articles at a community legal clinic and was called to the bar in 2012. As a former refugee herself, she was drawn to immigration and refugee law and has been a sole practitioner working in association with Jackman & Associates since 2012. Her practice covers humanitarian and compassionate applications, family and spousal sponsorship, refugee claims and group sponsorships, temporary visa applications, Federal Court applications, citizenship applications, and admissibility matters. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Refugee Lawyers' Association and is empanelled with Legal Aid Ontario. She is fluent in Dari/Farsi and has an intermediate understanding of Urdu.
