About Maya

Maya Poliak's litigation practice at Chaitons centers on insolvency and restructuring work, particularly receiverships, liquidations and reorganizations carried out under statutes such as the CCAA, the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the PPSA. She advises debtors, creditors, court-appointed officers, purchasers and lenders on domestic and cross-border restructuring matters, and appears regularly before the Superior Court of Justice, including its Commercial List. Maya serves on the boards of the Turnaround Management Association and the Ontario Bar Association's Insolvency Chapter, and within the firm she acts as a mentor to students and associates. She earned her J.D. from the University of Ottawa in 2006 and was called to the Ontario bar in 2007. She is fluent in Russian.
