About Matthew

Matt Sutton is a Partner at Thomson Rogers who joined the firm in 2019 after more than a decade as a partner at an insurance defence firm, where he came to realize he would rather help injured people than defend against their claims. He now represents accident victims in motor vehicle collisions, slip and falls, fire loss, product liability, and occupier's liability claims, concentrating mainly on catastrophic injury cases and appearing regularly before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Licence Appeal Tribunal. Called to the bar in 2007, Matt holds a BA from Queen's University, an LLB from the University of Windsor and a JD from the University of Detroit Mercy. He serves as President of the Board of the Brain Injury Association of Durham.
