About Alexander

Alexander is a lawyer and registered Canadian patent agent in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office with practice focused on all aspects of intellectual property protection and disputes, including particular emphasis on patent infringement and validity proceedings. He prosecutes patents and industrial designs on behalf of local, national and international clients, ranging from guiding startups and SMEs through their first intellectual property filing to assisting multinational clients with management of extensive intellectual property portfolios. Alexander also works with clients on regulatory obligations including Health Canada's regulatory requirements for pharmaceuticals and health products. Before joining Gowling WLG, he worked as a researcher with the University of Victoria's biochemistry department, developing mass spectrometry techniques to analyze protein and peptide biomarkers.
