About Matt

Matt Ertel is an associate practising criminal defence and regulatory law. He joined Lamb & O'Brien as a summer student and completed his articles with the firm, assisting counsel with multiple criminal trials and professional discipline hearings before being called to the Ontario bar in 2025. He holds an LL.B. from the University of Leicester and a B.A. (Honours) in Criminology from Carleton University, and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa, and the Criminal Lawyers' Association.
