About Rami

Rami Filfil is the principal of FILFIL IP, a boutique intellectual property firm he founded in Ottawa in 2021. He is a lawyer called to the Ontario Bar, a registered patent agent in Canada and the United States, and a registered Canadian trademark agent, with more than 20 years of experience in IP law across three continents. His technical background includes advanced degrees in physics and mathematics and research on the RADARSAT-2 satellite radar program, and he has patented defence R&D innovations in Canada. His practice covers patents, trademarks, industrial designs, IP strategy and portfolios, licensing and transactions, and IP enforcement and disputes, spanning fields such as artificial intelligence, telecommunications, photonics, medical devices and cryptography. He has been ranked as a patent expert in the IAM Patent 1000 since 2019 and as a trademark expert in the WTR 1000 since 2021.
