About Mary

Mary Jane Saunders is a member of Patterson Law's Wills, Estates & Trusts team, working with clients on estate plans that range from basic wills to complex tax, estate, and trust matters. She also advises executors, trustees, and beneficiaries through estate and trust administration. Saunders moved to Pictou County in 2012 after completing her law degree at the University of New Brunswick and a commerce degree at Saint Mary's University, and she later completed the STEP Canada Diploma Program. She was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2012 and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada for trusts and estates since 2023. Saunders is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and has spoken to groups including the Canadian Bar Association and the Nova Scotia Teachers Union on estate planning topics.
