About Mark

Mark Oulton practices general commercial and administrative litigation with a focus on natural resource and forestry-related matters. For more than 20 years he has appeared regularly before the Forest Appeals Commission, all levels of the British Columbia courts, and the Supreme Court of Canada, and he also maintains a commercial arbitration and mediation practice. Oulton clerked for Justice F. McDonald at the Federal Court of Appeal. He was called to the British Columbia bar in 2000 and holds an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School, a Master of Environmental Studies from York University, and a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of British Columbia. He was appointed King's Counsel in 2025 and is ranked by Chambers and Partners in forestry law. He serves on the board of the Vancouver International Arbitration Centre.
