About Mark

Mark Baron leads Richards Buell Sutton's Lending and Secured Transactions Group and co-leads its Real Estate Practice Group, specializing in commercial lending. He represents chartered banks, credit unions, life insurance companies, and private lenders in secured loan transactions ranging from syndicated mortgage loans to asset-based commercial loans, and has expertise in commercial real estate and insolvency matters. He holds an LL.B. from the University of Alberta (1998) and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Calgary (1995), and was called to the bar in British Columbia in 1999. He is a director of the Mortgage Investment Association of British Columbia and a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals, and the Urban Development Institute.
