About Mario

Mario Checchia joined Branch MacMaster in October 2022 as a litigation associate and became a partner in January 2026. Before that he worked at a leading Vancouver litigation firm for eight years. His practice is focused on litigation, class actions, insurance coverage, subrogation, and defence, including the defence of healthcare professionals, businesses, and municipalities, and he has appeared at all levels of court in BC. Mario earned his JD from Thompson Rivers University in 2016 and an Honours BA in Economics and Political Science with distinction from Brock University in 2011.
