About Jay

Jay Naster's practice centers on white-collar criminal, quasi-criminal, and regulatory litigation and investigations, and their intersection with civil liability. He has appeared before every level of trial and appellate court in Ontario, including the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. Following his call to the bar in 1986, he spent eleven years as Crown counsel handling white-collar prosecutions involving corporate, securities, and tax matters, then became senior litigation counsel at the Ontario Securities Commission in 1997, focusing on securities investigations and regulatory hearings. Since entering private practice in 2005, Jay has represented individuals and corporations facing white-collar criminal charges and regulatory or professional discipline proceedings, including cases involving fraud, insider trading, market manipulation, and tax evasion. He regularly advises clients in complex investigations, working alongside forensic accountants, economists, and regulators to reach efficient resolutions.
