About Malcolm
Malcolm MacKillop is a founding partner of SOM LLP with more than 40 years advising employers, executives, and boards on workplace and litigation matters. He is certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a Specialist in Civil Litigation and practices exclusively in employment law, handling wrongful dismissal, executive compensation, fiduciary duty, workplace investigations, human rights, and shareholder disputes. Malcolm appears regularly before Ontario courts, including the Court of Appeal, and before administrative tribunals across Canada. He is a special sessional lecturer at the Truman Bodden Law School, University of Liverpool, teaching employment law and mediation, and has authored legal texts in the field. He was called to the bar in Newfoundland in 1984 and in Ontario in 1989, and holds an LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick. Malcolm founded Rock for Life, a charitable initiative that has raised close to $1 million for World Vision and the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
