About Nikita

Nikita Da Silva is a barrister and solicitor who earned her Bachelor of Law at the University of Guyana and then completed her Legal Education Certificate at Trinidad and Tobago's Sir Hugh Wooding Law School. She was first introduced to criminal law as a student in Georgetown, Guyana, at the Chambers of the Director of Public Prosecutions, and served as an articling student at her firm in 2021. Her practice centers on criminal defence, and she has appeared for clients in the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. Nikita prepares and conducts bail hearings, including special bail hearings, and defends clients facing a wide range of charges, from impaired driving and theft to domestic assault and drug offences. She also assists with record suspension applications and belongs to the Criminal Lawyers' Association and Women in Canadian Criminal Defence.
