About Lucas
Lucas completed law school as a mature student and was called to the bar in 2018. He began his career at a full-service firm, gaining experience across various areas of law before shifting in 2020 to a career focused solely on civil litigation. He has appeared before the Landlord and Tenant Board, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, Small Claims Court, and the Superior Court, and has argued a 15-day trial before the Canadian Investment Regulatory Investment Hearing Panel. Lucas has also appeared in matters before the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court of Canada and the Federal Human Rights Tribunal, and approaches litigation through a cost-benefit lens, favouring settlement through negotiation, mediation and pre-trial conferences. He received the Governor General of Canada medal for academic excellence and the Queen Elizabeth II Scholarship, and has published with the C.D. Howe Institute think tank.
